Membership & Dues

West Potomac welcomes players of all ability and experience levels. Many of our players started with little-to-no rugby experience and learned the sport from scratch to go on a become fixtures in our starting line-ups.

In addition to our A-Side, we field a B-Side match each Saturday as well as an Old Boys (35+) side throughout the year giving plenty of playing opportunity to whomever wants it. Getting started with the club is easy and only takes a handful of things (in addition to a pair of boots and willingness to work hard at practice):

Dues

The club dues collected each season help to cover the numerous expenses that allow the club to compete, practice, travel, and host socials. If you are interested in joining but things are tight, don’t let finances hold you back — we are more than willing to make arrangements so that guys can get out and play!

  • Returning Full-Time Players: $125
  • Rookies/New Players: $75

USA Rugby Membership (CIPP Registration)

All players must be registered with USA Rugby before they can play in sanctioned matches. The registration runs from September-August and includes supplemental accident insurance for injuries sustained at practices or during a match (worth the price alone). Registration can be done online HERE.

West Potomac Rugby

We wish all of the West Potomac Rugby Football Club, current and former players, WAGs and social members as well as our sponsors (Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company and Lorton Stone) a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Our thoughts are with those that serve our communities and nation and cannot be home during the holidays. We are proud to have a tradition of active duty military, veterans and public servants on the team.

Happy Holidays and Excedi Universum!

The end of the third paragraph!

It's addressed to Gessner. The date must be a typo. It should read 1883.

The newsletters were excellent read. Received them for a few years after leaving the D.C area and living the next duty station! Ski 🏉

Fortunately we are a far more open minded club these days and have worked with an excellent Gay Mens Rugby Club and supported a women's shelter in the region...among other charities reflecting our belief in treating everyone off the rugby pitch with respect. On the rugby pitch is another story.
